Mentay Steel Fab Constructions is currently seeking a Part-Time Business Administration Assistant Trainee to join the team in their Ballarat office. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to build a strong foundation in business administration while supporting the day-to-day operations of a growing and dynamic business.


As a trainee, you will play an important role in keeping the business running smoothly, often managing multiple tasks and priorities at once. Throughout your traineeship, you will learn how to contribute to workplace health and safety, create and use spreadsheets, design business documents, organise schedules and maintain essential business resources.


To be successful in this role, applicants must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications prior to commencing the traineeship.


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Answering incoming phone calls and directing them appropriately
  • Monitoring and responding to accounts-related emails
  • Processing sales orders
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations
  • Making payments to creditors and reconciling creditor invoices
  • Assisting the accounting and administration team 
  • Assisting with workplace health and safety (OH&S) tasks

This traineeship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business administration within a respected local manufacturing business, while developing practical skills that can be applied across a wide range of industries.
