Tuition Fees

BGT as a provider must charge each student a tuition contribution on the basis of $1.37 for each nominal enrolled hour of government-funded training or further education in which the student is enrolled (rounded to the nearest dollar) in any calendar year or continuous 12 month period of enrolment (the ‘enrolment period’).

The minimum tuition contribution that must be charged in respect of the total enrolments by a student in government-funded training or further education in any enrolment period is $55, based on 40 hours of tuition at the rate of $1.37 an hour (rounded to the nearest dollar).

Tuition Fees—Trainees

If you are enrolled in a traineeship program, the maximum tuition contribution that may be charged in respect of the total enrolments by a student in government-funded training or further education in any enrolment period is $877, based on 640 hours of tuition at the rate of $1.37 an hour (rounded to the nearest dollar).

Fees can be paid for by the trainee or the employer/workplace.

To apply for Recognition of Prior Learning a fee of $80.00 per unit will apply.  The enrolment fee will be modified to exclude the units being recognised for prior learning.

Exemption from Tuition Fees

BGT will not charge a tuition fee which is more than the minimum $55 for

a person who holds:

    (a) Commonwealth Health Care Card;

    (b) Pensioner Concession Card; or

    (c) Veteran’s Gold Card.

The concessions also apply to the dependent spouse or dependant child of the card holder.

Please notify your trainer if an exemption or reduction is required, due to meeting any of the above criteria. The exemption would need to be verified through sighting of relevant documentation.

Concessions and exemptions are available to eligible persons who provide documentary evidence. If, for any reason, you think you may be eligible for a concession, please discuss this with the Training Manager. All information will be confidential. BGT will grant concession on tuition fees when it considers that collection in full would impose extreme hardship. Students/trainees experiencing financial difficulties may contact the Manager to negotiate a payment schedule.

Refunds of Tuition Fees - Traineeships

For a student to gain a refund, they must give written notice to BGT on the Request for Withdrawal and  Refund Form (available from the Training Administrator) any time up to four weeks after the commencement of training BGT will refund, to the student, the full tuition fee paid less the sum of $55, which is the minimum fee.    

Resources Fee

A resource fee is applicable depending on the Certificate level being undertaken. This will be discussed at enrolment.

BGT offers eftpos facilities for trainees.
