BGT offers the highest quality of service and strives to continually exceed the expectation of our customers and clients (known as stakeholders) who include

Whilst maintaining a commitment to provide training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged groups.

In meeting these expectations BGT undertakes to respect the rights of all BGT stakeholders with the adoption of the Principles of the Privacy Act 1988.

BGT undertakes to:-

  1. Give stakeholders the option of interacting anonymously with BGT and its staff.
  2. Collect data (only that which is necessary) for efficient and effective operations, functions and outcomes
  3. Manage personal data collection in a fair and legal way
  4. Endeavour to collect personal information from a stakeholder where it is practicable and reasonable to do so
  5. Obtain consent from stakeholders for the collection and divulgement of private information
  6. Take fair and reasonable steps as far as practicable to ensure stakeholders or others are aware that (of)
    1. Collection of information about them is being undertaken
    2. Provision of that information to third parties and others
  7. Take fair and reasonable steps ensuring stakeholders are aware of information pertaining to them that is collected from sources other than them.
  8. Use information provided by stakeholders only for the primary purposes for which it was collect with specific reference to sensitive information
  9. Ensure personal information collected, used or disclosed is complete and up-to-date. Where necessary information will require correction
  10. Ensure to take reasonable steps in protecting personal and stakeholder information held. Monitoring to ensure from misuse, loss unauthorised access, modification or unlawful disclosure.
  11. Ensure reasonable and practicable steps are taken to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information no longer needed to satisfactorily perform the functions and operations of the company. This action to be undertaken subject to those provisions detailed under archival processes, for example – the legal requirement to retain specific documentation and information for specific periods of time before legal destruction.
  12. Ensure that stakeholders and other enquiries are accurately informed of what sort of personal information is held on them and for what purpose it is held.
  13. Ensure that stakeholders and others who enquire know information relating to them is collected and or disclosed.
  14. Ensure that stakeholders have fair access to personal information except in circumstances that allows BGT to limit access eg: specified business imperatives, economic & commercial in confidence issues, law enforcement or public interest matters.
