The Youth Services Program

Youth Connections will provide a national, flexible, individualised and responsive service to assist young peole who are most at risk of disengaging from education or training and therefore not attaining Year 12 or equivalent and not making a successful transition to further study, training or work. The objective of Youth Connections is to support these young people to attain Year 12 or equivalent and to help them make a successful transition through education and onto further education, training or work.

How can Youth Connections help?

Youth Connectionsoffer one-on-one case management services to help young people overcome barriers and engage with education. A Youth Connections case manager might help a young person to:

  • Reconnect with family
  • Develop good social skill and make positive life changes
  • Connect with another organisation to help with barriers such as mental health, or literacy and numeracy
  • Tailor individual case management and group sessions to suit individual needs

Who can refer to the Youth Connections Program?

Referrals can come from anyone including:

  • Family members or friends
  • Education and training providers
  • Schools
  • Community organisation
  • Centrelink
  • Young people themselves

Youth Connections case managers are happy to provide outreach to young people and their families that find it difficult to attend the main office. Case managers often meet with young people at school, at home, in community centres, cafes and/or various venues that suit participant needs.
