BGT (formerly known as Ballarat Group Training) is a not for profit community based organisation established in 1986 to develop and grow the Group Training model in the Ballarat region.

BGT's main objective is to provide direct relief from poverty, suffering and distress from long term unemployment and low income status.

Our direct service activities include:

Group Training Program where we provide direct relief to long term unemployed apprentices and trainees who are suspended, out of trade, out of work, unemployed and in positions of difficulty in regard to their circumstances.

Pre-employment support and case management including the development of social and personal skills to people from low socio-economic areas (See Workforce Participation Partnership tab).

Apprenticeship Access Programs for the long term unemployed, homeless, early school leavers, mature aged, people with a disability, sole parents, indigenous and those with additional literacy and numeracy needs.  These programs offer a range of activities and training aimed at developing employment and related skills.

Matched savings program to provide up to $1,000 for low income people to meet their educational needs. (See SaverPlus tab).

Case management support for the most at risk young people to assist them to stay in education through our Youth Pathways program (See Youth Pathways tab).

BGT can only provide this assistance with the help of employers who are willing to host an apprentice or trainee in their business.  Contact us to see how BGT can help you.
